Kristalina Georgieva has taken her position as the new Chair of the IMF Executive Board.

The Executive Board is responsible for conducting the day-to-day business of the IMF.

It is composed of 24 Directors, who are elected by member countries of by groups of countries, and the Managing Director, who serves as its Chairman.

The Board usually meets several times each week. It carries out its work largely on the basis op papers prepared by the IMF management and staff.

The Board meeting room has just completed an extensive renovation in 2019 to modernize and upgrade both its technical communication capabilities and to refresh the look and usefulness for the directors.
