From RCIPS Tue 26 Feb

Just before 4:30PM today, 26 February, the police helicopter suffered an uncontrolled command failure while lifting off at ORIA on a routine deployment.  The sudden aborted takeoff caused the tail of the helicopter to strike the ground, causing damage.  

No one was injured during the incident. 

The CIAA was immediately informed of the incident and is currently on site, as well as all relevant emergency services. As a result of this incident, the police helicopter is out of service.
