Indian High Commissioner visits Cayman Islands
His Excellency the High Commissioner of India, Mr. M. Sevala Naik paid courtesy calls to Her Excellency the Governor, Helen Kilpatrick, and the Premier, Hon. Alden McLaughlin, at Government Administration Building on Thursday, 17 August, 2017. Premier McLaughlin also presented Mr. Naik with a gift.
Stationed in Jamaica, Mr. Naik is India’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Bahamas, and the British Virgin Islands, as well as the Cayman Islands.
Mr. Naik was also the guest on Radio Cayman’s talk show Talk Today where he talked about a business seminar the Indian High Commission is planning to organise on Grand Cayman later this year.
After his appointment as the Indian High Commissioner to Jamaica, he assumed his charge of duties on 23 August, 2016. Prior to his present posting, he served as Consul General of India in Munich from August 2012 to July 2016.
The High Commissioner had visited Grand Cayman in January this year when he presented credentials to the Governor and met with the Deputy Premier, Hon. Moses Kirkconnell, who was then Acting Premier, in addition to former Minister of Financial Services, Hon. Wayne Panton and government officials.
Mr. M. Sevala Naik is a graduate in Commerce and obtained Masters in Business Management. He is married to Mrs. Sunitha Naik and they have two daughters.
