STD Results in Less than 2 Hours?
STDs are the highest they have ever been with over 2 million new cases of sexually transmitted diseases in 2016, according to the CDC. The CDC is calling for action to be taken to help with this outbreak and for prevention. Healthvana, the leading cloud based-technology platform, which has revolutionized communications between healthcare providers and patients, has answered the call with same day results for STD and health-related testing. Healthvana has collaborated with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and Cepheid, creating a solution which aims to improve patient and physician communications via its technology which will end the typical “5 to 7 day wait period” for an STD or health-related test results. Below are some fast facts:
Instant gratification is the new norm, but it is more important when it comes to your health.
Getting same day results from STD testing can increasingly stop the spread of diseases.
The new year is typically when physicians and clinics see a huge increase in STD testing.
Knowledge is power. Healthvana’s platform provides the patient with STD results, and for those who are infected, an opportunity to receive test results faster allowing the physician to fully educate the patient on next steps to getting treatment.

Cayman Islands ORIA Redevelopment Update
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (15 January 2018) Please be advised of the latest happenings at Owen Roberts International Airport as part of the Redevelopment and Expansion project:
North Arch Works & Foot Traffic Detour
To facilitate construction works in the north Arch zone, we have cordoned off a large section of entry and exit points of the terminal with external fencing to detour foot traffic toward “safe” and accessible areas. As such, departing passengers must now enter the terminal through the new check-in hall’s vestibule doors to gain access to all airlines. Additionally, visitors to the airport who may be meeting with CIAA employees or airline personnel, must also enter the terminal this way and call the recipient to meet by Delta airlines check in. We are advising the public to please pay attention to directional signage to help expedite the flow of foot traffic in and out of the terminal building.
Second Short-Term Parking Exit
We have constructed and opened a second lane in short-term parking for exiting the airport.
Retail and Duty Free Shops
Our retail and duty free concessions that were in the original terminal have now been closed and moved out to accommodate the renovations. The Runaway Bar in the Departures Hall is still in operation to serve light snacks and refreshments. We are looking forward to our new Concessions Programme, coming online in phases in the summer of 2018.

One of the Public Library Service goals is to recognise local authors. At this time, published authors are encouraged to submit requested information to the Public Library Service (PLS) by 31 January 2018 in order to be a part of the first-ever Book Registry for the Cayman Islands.
In addition, the PLS is keen to provide the Cayman Islands community with as much information as possible about the author and their significant literary contributions.
To help accomplish their mission, the Public Library Service is partnering with CLM Publishing to compile and publish a registry of all locally authored books. Once completed, this Book Registry will be printed and distributed at various locations throughout the Islands. The intention is for the registry to be updated on a regular basis after the first publication.
Director of the Cayman Islands Public Library Service, Ramona Melody explained, “We are very excited about this project and look forward to getting the new Book Registry completed. However, in order to achieve this goal our first step is to gather as much information as possible about the local authors and the book(s) that they have written and published. We do hope that the local authors in the community will participate and provide us with necessary information for this project.”
For more information on how you can be a part of the local Book Registry and contact details for this project, please visit http://www.cipl.gov.ky. The deadline for submissions is 31, January, 2018.
