Information Session on NPO Law Planned for East End
East End residents, as well as persons in neighbouring Eastern districts, involved with charitable organisations have an opportunity to learn about The Non-Profit Organisation Law.
The Ministry of Financial Services is hosting a two-hour information session on Monday, 12 March, from 7:30pm to 9:30pmat the East End United Church Hall.
This discussion will focus on organisations that solicit funds from the public for charitable causes – such as churches, sports clubs and humanitarian groups. Charities have certain responsibilities under the law, and gain distinct benefits from registering to be a non-profit organisation.

Fly a Flag for the Commonwealth
The Cayman Islands will once again raise the Commonwealth Flag to commemorate Commonwealth Day on Monday 12 March 2018.
The public and media are invited to a short ceremony which will take place outside the Government Administration Building between 9:45 a.m. – 10:10 a.m., with the flag being raised promptly at 10:00 a.m. This is part of the International ‘Fly a Flag for the Commonwealth’ initiative. This year’s theme for Commonwealth Day is “Towards a Common Future”.
Additionally, Youth Parliament will take place at the Legislative Assembly building on Monday at 10:30am where high school and tertiary education students will take over the LA to become parliamentarians and debate motions.

The West Bay Talk Tourism Community meeting hosted by The Ministry and Department of Tourism will be held at Sir John A. Cumber Primary School Hall at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13th.
Cayman Islands Conservation Council Meeting 14 March 1pm
The National Conservation Council will hold a general meeting on Wednesday 14 March, 2018, from 1pm at the Government Administration Building (George Town, Grand Cayman) in the downstairs conference room (room 1038). The Agenda of the meeting will be posted on the DoE website (www.doe.ky/natl-conservation-council/general-meetings). This meeting is open to observers from the public & press.
