Cayman Islands Chatterbox wants you to “Jingle & Mingle!”
Cayman Islands: Information on Scheduled CUC Outage West Bay
Area: West Bay Date: Tuesday, December 4, 2018 Time : 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
CUC advises customers in West Bay that they will experience interruptions to their electrical service for no more than two 20-minute periods on Tuesday, December 4 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Customers on Hell Road between the junction with Watercourse Road and Hell Gift Shop and all side roads should note that they will be without electrical service for the entire period between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Areas affected on Hell Road include Bonfire Close, Caboose Lane, Miss Daisy Lane and all side roads.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution when utilising Hell Road and Watercourse Road as CUC will have a number of vehicles and personnel in this area.
CUC apologises for this interruption, which is necessary to allow telecommunication companies to provide customers with fibre-optic service and our customers with safe, reliable and efficient power.

The Chamber of Commerce will host a BE INFORMED session on Plan Cayman on Wednesday afternoon, at its offices in Governors Square, West Bay Road.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Underway in Cayman Islands
The Family Resource Centre (FRC) is marking 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence with a number of awareness-raising events, including radio interviews and presentations by Family Resource Centre representatives, using the #HearMeToo hashtag. The following are events that the public can take part in:
■ Ends Monday, 10 December – 16-day Clothesline Project is being displayed throughout various districts across Grand Cayman. The initiative highlights the uplifting slogans of those impacted by gender violence on T-shirts and promotes the healing process.
■ Monday, 30 November – Dress for a Cause Day, Government Administration Building, 9 a.m. Participants are asked to wear orange.
■ Wednesday, 5 December – Clothesline Project T-shirt painting session. Display your story and engage in the healing process. All shirts are the property of FRC. Different colours represent various types of violence. Family Resource Centre, 5.30 p.m. – 7 p.m. No registration required. For further information call the Family Resource Centre on 949-0006.

Celebrate Cayman Islands District Display now in Bodden Town
Celebrate Cayman’s Travelling District Display has made its way to Bodden Town.
The display opens for public viewing at the Bodden Town United Church Hall on Wednesday 28 November 2018 and continues until Saturday, 1 December 2018. Opening times are Wednesday to Friday 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The travelling district display’s next stop will be the Government Administrative building for the month of December.
The display was curated by the Cayman Islands National Museum and features artefacts that share the story of the Coat of Arms, and serves as a preview of the museum’s upcoming Coat of Arms exhibition.

Flight is set to make history as one of the most ambitious stage productions to date with the first theater set piece of its kind, the detailed design of Royal Caribbean’s ISS was informed by Astronaut Clayton C. Anderson, who lived 167 days in space and completed 38 hours and 28 minutes over 6 spacewalks in two separate missions.

Cayman Islands Finance Ministry Administration, Treasury Closure

**This class moves into exploration of character, improvisation and devising their own pieces. This is a key age for development and therefore we place a strong focus on the creative process and everyone getting to input ideas with whatever we work on.**
WEDNESDAY
Acting – Stage group: 13-16 yrs 5.00-6.30pm $155
**By this age all the core skills from the other age groups will be covered, along with script work and the option to try directing other scenes with guidance. On occasion, this class will choose their own pieces and this can include both classical and modern texts.**
Actors Training: 7-9pm $200
**This class is mixed ability. It will be tailored to the groups needs but will likely include in depth scene studies, character work and improvisation/devising skills along with acting theory and techniques. There will be the option of selecting your own pieces at points, if the group chooses this.**

**This class has the focus on play and storytelling. Children will largely do teacher-in-role exercises and learn to work as part of a group, as well as individuals. The list is as follows:
Remembrance Day: Monday, 12 November 2018;
Christmas: Tuesday, 25 December 2018; and
Boxing Day: Wednesday, 26 December 2018.
Cayman Islands Public Holidays for 2019 Listed
· All public holidays for 2019, with the exception of the Queen’s Birthday holiday in June, are now confirmed.
· The Queen’s Birthday holiday is anticipated to be on Monday, 10 June but remains subject to confirmation.
· Christmas holidays are midweek next year.

Cayman Islands: NRA Announces Construction of the Elgin Avenue Extension
The National Roads Authority (NRA) has begun construction of the Elgin Avenue extension.
The construction will extend east of Elgin Avenue from the CNB roundabout, connecting to a new two-lane roundabout, with exits to Printer Way and Crewe Road. When construction is complete motorist will not be able to access Printer Way via Thomas Russell Avenue.
Construction will last approximately four months. During the construction period drivers are asked to keep watch for traffic diversions and asked to drive with caution.
NRA thanks the public for their patience during these roadworks, and look forward to providing the benefit of these much-needed improvements.
