Cayman Islands Needs AssessmentUnit: Holiday Office Closures
The Needs Assessment Unit (NAU) advises the public that its offices, on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, will be closed from noon on the following days:
● Monday, 24 December for Christmas Eve, and
● Monday, 31 December for New Year’s Eve.
Both offices will be closed on Tuesday, 1 January 2019 for New Year’s Day resuming normal hours from Wednesday, 2 January 2019.
The NAU wishes all of its valued clients a Happy Holidays.

Cayman Islands: NWDA Holiday Hours 2018
The National Workforce Development Agency (NWDA) would like to notify the public of its holiday working hours and closures for the remainder of 2018.
The NWDA office will close at noon on Friday, 14 December 2018, and will resume normal business hours on Monday, 17 December 2018.
The office will also close to the public at noon on Monday, 24 December and Monday, 31 December 2018.
NWDA staff apologise for any inconvenience the closures may cause.
Cayman Islands: Immigration Holiday Hours 2018
The Department of Immigration has announced its holiday working hours, as well as dates for the remaining board meetings for this year.
The Immigration headquarters, including public counters and the Passport and Visa offices, will close to thepublic at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, 24 December 2018 and will reopen at8:30 a.m. on Thursday, 27 December 2018.
These offices will close again to the public at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, 31 December 2018 and resume at 8:30a.m. on Wednesday, 2 January 2019.
The meeting dates for the Immigration Boards are as follows:
The Work Permit Board’s final meeting date will be Wednesday, 19 December 2018, and will resume meetings on Monday, 7 January 2019.
The Business Staffing Plan Board’s final meeting date will be Wednesday, 19 December and will resume meetings on Wednesday, 16 January 2019.
The Cayman Status and Permanent Residents Board’s final meeting will be Tuesday, 11 December 2018,and will resume meetings on Thursday, 10 January 2019.
The Administration, Border Control and Enforcement sections of Immigration will continue functioning as usual while the boards are on leave.
Cayman Islands: North Side garden party, Boxing Day

CUC advises customers in West Bay between the Hell Gift Shop on Hell Road east to and including Dill Lane on Reverend Blackman Road, and south on Town Hall Road to and including Billy Manderson Drive, that they will experience interruptions to their electrical service on Wednesday, December 12 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Areas affected on Hell Road include Fountain Road up to and including Agua Lane and areas affected on Town Hall Road include Billy Manderson Drive and Sanchez Villas.

Cayman Islands NHD Trust to open 16 homes
The National Housing Development Trust invites the public to attend the opening of the first 16 homes to be constructed during the second phase of its Affordable Housing Initiative.
The event takes place at the Affordable Housing Site in Bodden Town at 3 p.m. on Saturday 8 December 2018.Interested persons will also be able to discuss the programme with NHDT staff and participating contractors. Refreshments and finger foods will be available.
Cayman Islands Sunrise Invites the Public To Christmas Service
The Sunrise Adult Training Centre invites the public to join clients and staff at the John Gray Memorial Church Hall in West Bay, next Wednesday evening, 12 December 2018, at 6.30 p.m. The Centre is hosting a special Christmas service that will celebrate Jesus as the “Light of the World”. Admission is free, although any donations to the Centre and its programming will, as always, be much appreciated.

The list of Cayman Islands Public Holidays for 2018 is now officially confirmed and released by theDeputy Governor’s Office.
The list is as follows:
Remembrance Day: Monday, 12 November 2018;
Christmas: Tuesday, 25 December 2018; and
Boxing Day: Wednesday, 26 December 2018.
Cayman Islands Public Holidays for 2019 Listed
· All public holidays for 2019, with the exception of the Queen’s Birthday holiday in June, are now confirmed.
· The Queen’s Birthday holiday is anticipated to be on Monday, 10 June but remains subject to confirmation.
· Christmas holidays are midweek next year.
Grand Cayman (GIS) – Public Holidays in the Cayman Islands for 2019, except the Queen’s Birthday holiday, are officially confirmed by the Deputy Governor’s Office.
The Governor’s Office informs the Trooping of the Colour, annual ceremony held to commemorate the Queen’s Official Birthday, is likely to be on Saturday, 8 June 2019. Consequently, the official Queen’s Birthday public holiday in the Cayman Islands is likely to be Monday, 10 June 2019. Official confirmation is expected in early 2019.

KAABOO Cayman Feb. 15-16, 2019
The KAABOO Cayman festival has announced plans to donate some of its proceeds to local nonprofit agencies on the island.In a news release, festival organizers said $1 of every ticket sold would be set aside to support three local and one international charitable groups. Two-day passes for the festival are expected to start at more than $200 when the lineup of entertainers is announced at 7:30 a.m. on May 15. The Family Resource Centre (FRC) is marking 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence with a number of awareness-raising events, including radio interviews and presentations by Family Resource Centre representatives, using the #HearMeToo hashtag.
16-day Clothesline Project is being displayed throughout various districts across Grand Cayman. The initiative highlights the uplifting slogans of those impacted by gender violence on T-shirts and promotes the healing process.

Customs Hours Extension
To facilitate imports, Customs will be extending opening hours at their Collection office only during the last week before Christmas (17 to 21 December 2018), and again after Christmas (27 and 28 December 2018). To better serve customers, Customs will be open to the public from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday but close on Saturday, 22 December and Saturday, 29 December 2018. This means that customers will have an extra hour to make payments to Customs, or do any other business necessary to clear their goods through Customs.
