International President visits Cayman Islands Girls’ Brigade

The Cayman Islands Girls’ Brigade played host to International President Ruth Chikasa on her tour of the Caribbean mid July. During her visit, she toured the Grand Cayman and met with officers and several dignitaries. She also enjoyed a fellowship meal with with the whole Brigade one evening.
The girls took the opportunity to meet Mrs. Chikasa, who is from Zambia, and to ask her questions about her country and the work of the Brigade there. She, in turn, encouraged them to remain faithful to the Brigade where many important lessons could be learnt and to be “stars for Jesus”.
The Brigade in the Cayman islands was started in 1946 by Mrs Olive Miller and there are still companies in five districts of Grand Cayman. It is a uniformed youth organization which seeks to help girls to become followers of Jesus Christ, and through self control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life.
