International offshore law firm Carey Olsen has been awarded Investment Funds Law Firm of the Year in the Cayman Islands in the 2015 Corporate International Legal Awards.

Running since 2008, the awards are a result of in-depth independent research scrutinised by a panel in each jurisdiction and winning firms are recognised for demonstrating excellence in terms of expertise and service levels over the course of the year.

Carey Olsen’s office in the Cayman Islands opened in 2012 and is led by five partners. The office has a strong corporate and investment funds service offering which, in 2013, expanded to include specialist teams providing trust and private client, insolvency and litigation advice.

Since inception the office has developed a strong client portfolio and has become a recognised provider of corporate and legal services to domestic and international banks, commercial and financial clients as well as to international law firms.

Recent transactional work includes advising West Face Capital Inc. on the launch of its $600 million special situations fund and advising on the first retail debt listing on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange. The firm also advises a wide range of fund managers in the market and has received instructions from a global client base including China, Canada, Israel, the UK and the US.
