Intertrust Cayman Islands launches support for the Special Needs Foundation
Intertrust has been the title sponsor of the Cayman Islands Marathon for seven
years supporting the islands biggest sporting event since 2011. This year
Intertrust has teamed up with Cross Fit 7 Mile to create a unique marathon
training programme. Led by long distance running authority Scott Ruby, the 40
members of the Intertrust Island Striders will be put through their paces in the
16 week lead up to the main event on Sunday 3 December 2017.
The Intertrust Island Striders will be running for a reason, with Intertrust
pledging USD0.25 for every mile completed under the training programme.
Alongside a host of additional fundraising activities organised and led by Intertrust
employees, the final amount will be presented to the Intertrust employee-chosen
charity, the Special Needs Foundation Cayman (SNFC), which was decided by an
internal staff vote.
Susie Bodden Executive Leader of the SNFC said “’we are absolutely thrilled to
have been chosen as the Charity of Choice for Intertrust’s Run for a Reason
Campaign this year. Any monies received will go to support our special needs
families, in particular with our Respite, Family Support and Sports & Leisure
Programmes. We hope through this campaign to be able to raise awareness of
special needs in the Cayman Islands.”
Mary Willmot, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Intertrust
Cayman echoed Susie’s thoughts, “It’s a wonderful charity that reinforces our
commitment to the Intertrust Foundation which runs global initiatives supporting
youth and education, we look forward working with SNFC to make a difference to
children here on island.”
