CAYMAN ISLANDS. Grand Cayman duty free retailer Island Companies has hosted a party to celebrate the 10th birthday of Swiss watchmaker Vogard.
The event, held on 21 March, was the latest instalment of the retailer’s ‘Watch and Wine Dinner Series’, with invitations hand delivered to 25 people to attend.
Island Companies used the party to thank Vogard for choosing Grand Cayman for the US and Caribbean introduction of its newest complication, the Datezoner Pilot 10 Year Anniversary Edition.
“I am happy to take the occasion of this event in such a beautiful venue to introduce in worldwide exclusivity the new Datezoner Pilot watch,” said Vogard President and Founder Michael Vogt.
“Vogard manufactures 500 watches every year, I personally control every single watch and meeting the people who are collecting my watches is a fantastic occasion to share with them my passion for watch complications and get their feedback.”
The new Datezoner Pilot watch combines date, time zone and chronograph functions, with a patented mechanism synchronising the date with all time zones. This ensures that the date changes automatically when the bezel is turned over the midnight line.
Limited to one piece per timezone, each timepiece is individually numbered from -12 to +12, representing the 24 time zones in the world. Each one comes in an anniversary box including an additional strap and a strap changing tool.
Island Companies CEO Alexandre Tabacoff added: “In a world where brands are available almost everywhere and at any moment I believe that rewarding our customers with luxurious and relaxed events is contributing to our position of watch and jewellery retailer of choice in Grand Cayman.
“We are proud to be the exclusive Vogard retailer for the Cayman Islands and the evening was also to honour their company and our long standing relationship together.”
Vogard watches are currently available at Island Companies’ stores at The Mansion,Camana Bay, and Island Time at Island Plaza, downtown George Town.
