Island Heritage Charity Drive earns $35,000 to charities
The Island Heritage Roundabout was adopted in 2011 – an idea that sprang out of their staff’s desire to help beautify Grand Cayman and improve the environment.
Once a bare and forgotten patch of scrubby grass, the newly re-landscaped Roundabout celebrates Cayman’s culture, complete with a miniature gingerbread house and native, locally grown trees. By all accounts, our customers (and the public-at-large) love it.
Charity Drive ran from 7am to 7pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 16 to 18 April. During these times, for every car that drove over the Island Heritage roundabout, the company donated $1 to charity.
On each day, a different charitable organisation benefited.
Two charities, National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and the Cayman Islands Red Cross each received CI$10,000, whilst the third, Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) received a whopping CI$15,000.
