It really is a croc!
The crocodile was spotted by a man kite surfing and a was captured by a “crocodile expert” with the assistance of two fishermen.
The crocodile was eventually handed over to the Department of Environment. They tagged the reptile and have relocated it to a safe area well away from people.
The crocodile was approx. 4ft long.
Several crocodiles have been spotted over the years in our waters.
Crocodiles are often referred to as “living fossils.” They have the same basic appearance and lifestyle that they had nearly 200 million years ago during the age of dinosaurs. They have survived extinction events, ice ages, climatic changes, and the movement of continents.
