Jamaica cops eight awards for top Caribbean resorts/ Cayman Islands gets two
Jamaica has copped the lead in Condé Nast Traveler’s top resorts in the Caribbean with eight local properties receiving prestigious awards.
The 29th annual Readers’ Choice Awards featuring the eight Jamaican properties were announced yesterday.
The winning Jamaican properties are:
Jakes Hotel, Villas and Spa
GoldenEye
Rockhouse Hotel
Jamaica Inn
Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall
Round Hill Hotel and Villas
The Caves
Couples Swept Away
“We’re proud of these eight awards as they signify that Jamaica remains at the pinnacle of hospitality in the Caribbean,” said Paul Pennicook, Jamaica’s director of tourism.
“These properties from Ocho Rios to the South Coast represent a sampling of our diverse hotel offerings throughout the island. Our hope is that visitors will explore these hotels and more when they come to the Home of All Right.”
Over 300,000 dedicated readers – nearly twice as many as last year – cast votes for 7,394 hotels, 606 cities, 500 cruise ships, and 236 islands, in an average survey time of 8.4 minutes.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel”.
