Jamaica: Two killed in hit-and-run accident
ZANAH Dennis, 18, of Retreat district, Westmoreland, and 17-year-old Sanjay Curtis of Little London, also in the parish, died as a result of injuries they received in a hit-and-run accident on the Sheffield main road in the parish yesterday morning.
The Negril police reported that the incident occurred about 2:00 am. Both youngsters, the police said, were standing on the roadway when they were allegedly hit by a white motor car, which did not stop.
Police took both to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Detectives yesterday appealed to the driver of the motor car to turn himself in. In addition, anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being asked to contact the Negril police at 957-4268, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
Labourer dies in MoBay crash
GARY Nelson, a 32-year-old labourer of Lilliput, St James, died on Sunday from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision on the Howard Cooke Boulevard in Montego Bay.
The Freeport police said about 12 midday, Nelson was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a Toyota Axio motor car. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
