Jamaica: Waterhouse top Don Bosco to win FCCCC Group A
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Waterhouse of Jamaica defeated Haiti’s Don Bosco 3-0 to claim top spot in Group A of the 2020 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship on Sunday night at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Kingston, Jamaica.
With the result, Waterhouse (4 points) and Cibao FC (2 points) of the Dominican Republic have advanced to the FCCCC semifinals.
The home side enjoyed a strong start and took a 1-0 lead in the 17’ when a shot rang off the crossbar and Rafeik Thomas was there to head in the rebound.
The Jamaican side kept mounting the pressure and doubled their lead 2-0 in the 37’ when Stephen Williams lashed in a shot into the left side of net.
Don Bosco sought a response and had two excellent looks at goal before halftime, but Waterhouse GK Akeem Chambers was alert and made the necessary saves to maintain the two-goal advantage.
Waterhouse then picked up a big insurance goal in the 66’ as Thomas scored his second of the night off a Don Bosco giveaway that ended with a right-footed shot from Thomas into net to complete the final scoreline.
