JEFFREY WEBB ACCEPTS NOMINATION FOR PRESIDENT OF CONCACAF
Jeffrey Webb, President of the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA), has accepted the nomination for President of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).
CONCACAF, the continental governing body for association football in North America, Central America and the Caribbean, is set to elect a President at its Congress in Budapest, Hungary on 23 May 2012.
In accordance with CONCACAF’s statutes, to date, twenty-five of the forty member countries, with representation from all three of the CONCACAF zones have exercised their right nominating Mr. Webb.
“I am humbled by the tremendous out pouring of support and encouragement received from so many of the member countries.” said Jeffrey Webb, “It is this unity of the CONCACAF that will champion our success, and if elected, it is my intention to build on that unity through collaboration, transparency, integrity, engagement, and accountability.”
Jeffrey Webb has over twenty years in leadership positions in football, as President of the CIFA, FIFA Executive Committee (Observer), Chairman of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Normalisation Committee, member of the FIFA Transparency and Compliance Committee, Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Internal Audit Committee, and Chairman of the CONCACAF Youth Committee.
If elected, Mr. Webb will bring extensive experience and strong leadership to the role of President of the CONCACAF.
