JetBlue will give away Round Trip Tickets if your candidate loses

“I’d pick the Cayman Islands”

Every election season I always hear people say if their candidate loses, they’d leave the country. Most say they’ll escape to Canada, or some European country. Personally, I’d pick the Cayman Islands, since Romney’s money is already seeking refuge in that country. Well Jetblue is making every defector’s dream come true.

“We’ve all heard it said before: if my candidate does not win, I’m leaving the country,” Marty St. George, senior vice president marketing and commercial strategy for JetBlue, said in a news release.

“Fun is one of our five founding values, and in this spirit we decided to give people a chance to recover from the political noise and follow through on their claim to skip town if their candidate comes up short. And with service to more than 20 international destinations JetBlue is the perfect fix. Most importantly, we want to highlight the freedom we have as Americans to exercise our right to vote and encourage everyone to do their part on Nov. 6. Live free or Fly!”

So there you have it folks. JetBlue is making it easy to flee the country. 1,006 certificates are up for grabs, which comes out to 2012 seats. Of course there’s fine print. The free flight will not include taxes, fees or a hotel. So once you get to Canada or the Cayman Islands, you’re on your own! If you go to jetblue.com/electionprotection, you can choose your candidate (the donkey or the elephant), and destination of choice. Instead of the Cayman Islands, I picked the Bahamas. Only because I already know someone who lives there and won’t have to worry about an expensive hotel.
