JNBS Targets Cayman Market
Investors and Jamaicans in Cayman will have a chance to explore real estate opportunities available in Jamaica through a two day Mortgage Fair, which will be held at the Triple C Auditorium on Fairbanks Road in Cayman from Thursday, July 19 to Friday, July 20.
The Mortgage Fair is being organised by the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) through its subsidiary, the National Building Society of Cayman. Other participants include members of the JN Group – the Jamaica National Money Services Limited and JN General Insurance Company Limited, real estate partners and attorneys-at-law.
The event, which is being held under the theme “Paradise is Calling”, will see presentations being made by the NBSC and JNBS representatives on steps to home ownership, as well as on JNBS mortgage products and services.
Jean Look-Tong, JN Executive, Marketing Sales and Promotions, said the Mortgage Fair is an opportunity to inform residents in Cayman of the real estate investments available in Jamaica.
“Prospective mortgage customers will have direct access to JNBS Mortgage Representatives, who will outline how to access a mortgage through the Society, and real estate developers and agents, who will update them of the properties that are now available on the market,” she said.
Mrs. Look Tong noted that Jamaica has the most attractive conditions for real estate investments at this time and that investors who wish to own a home in Jamaica should capitalize on the opportunities.
“We are now experiencing a single digit mortgage rate environment and one of the lowest statutory costs associated with transfer and sale of real estate such as, transfer tax and stamp duty, which are the lowest they have been in decades,” she disclosed.
She said the JNBS has one of the lowest Mortgage Rates on the market where new and existing mortgagors can access a rate of 9.4 per cent with up to 90 per cent financing of the property. “Now is the perfect time to buy a property in Jamaica,” she added.
Meanwhile, Dunbar McFarlane, General Manager of NBSC, said the subsidiary was happy to partner with its parent company to host the fair. He said that the principal activities of NBSC are granting home loans and deposit taking by way of regular savings accounts and Fixed Deposits.
He noted that NBSC has maintained a policy of offering attractive interest rates to its customers and that the building society will be on hand to outline its products and services at the Mortgage Fair.
Patrons can attend the JN Real Estate Fair at no cost. Interested persons are invited to contact the National Building Society of Cayman at 29 Elgin Avenue, P.O. Box, 504 Grand Cayman at Tel: (345) 946-3030/(345) 946-3031 or E-Mail: [email protected] for further information. The event will offer free mortgage processing; gifts for the first 100 guests and mortgage pre-approvals by appointments.
