June 28 mission trip to St. Maarten marks launch of Christian sailing ministry by Purpose Bound Caribbean
Purpose Bound Caribbean has launched a unique Christian sailing missions and retreats ministry with the announcement of its first trip to St. Maarten on June 28. Trip participants will live on a sailboat during their weeklong experience on this Caribbean island, which includes serving at an orphanage, daily spiritual growth studies, island exploration and water activities. The maiden trip is open to the public on a space-available basis.
Each day begins with personal prayer and reflection time at water’s edge, followed by breakfast fellowship on the boat. There will be discussion-based studies each morning on such topics as life purpose, discovering your SHAPE for serving, the role of mission trips, and other Christian subjects. Most of the day is then spent ashore doing missions work and engaging with orphans and other local inhabitants of this poverty-stricken region. The group will also have time to explore the beauty, history and culture of the island, and enjoy activities like hiking, snorkeling and windsurfing during their tropical adventure. Evenings on the boat include sunset dinner cruises, fellowship, Bible studies and worship under the stars.
“Purpose Bound offers a unique alternative to land-based mission trips, church retreats, cruises and other Christian travel,” noted Sam Ciatu, Executive Director. “Our hope and prayer is that by disconnecting from their day-to-day routines for a time of focused personal spiritual growth and serving those in need, participants return home refreshed, transformed and with a renewed sense of purpose and direction in their lives.”
Purpose Bound, Inc. is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry that organizes Christian sailing retreats, camp experiences and mission trips throughout the islands of the Caribbean. An 8 day / 7 night mission trip to St. Maarten is currently offered at $1,995, which is all-inclusive other than airfare to the island. The organization is led by attorney/lay leader Sam Ciatu and worship pastor David Lee. Additional information is available on the organization’s web site: http://www.PurposeBound.org
