Junior Batabano this Saturday (27)

2444869306_cd8621de49_zCayman Carnival Junior Batabano and Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday 27th April 2013.

The children will parade around George Town in a mass of colour, music and creativity before wowing the judges.

Family Fun Day starts at 1 p.m.

The parade is due to start at 3pm from outside the Glass House in Elgin Avenue. It will travel  through town via Sheddon Rd., Harbour Dr., Fort St. and Edward St. before returning to the Glass House.

After the parade the fun continues on the lawn of the Glass House with face painting, mask decorating, snow cones and family fun activities.

BatabanoE2The following junctions will be closed from 1pm on Saturday, 27 April, in connection with the Junior Batabano parade:

·         Elgin Ave/Humber Lane

·         Elgin Ave/Hospital Road

·         Hospital Road/4 way stop

·         Roundabout Elgin Ave/Louise Llewellyn Road

·         South Church Street/Goring Ave

·         Goring Ave/Louse Llewellyn Road

·         Harbour Drive/Fort Street

·         Mary Street/North Church Street

·         Clock Tower Junction

·         Edward Drive/Dr. Roy’s Drive

·         Shedden Road/Mary Street

Roads will reopen at the conclusion of the parade.

The Teen Jam (also on Sat 27) – The Batabano committee’s focus on holding an event for the teens is important. This is where teens can associate with their peers and enjoy music of their choice, all in a safe environment. Refreshments are on sale by the PTA.

From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Kri Dance Studio. Security is present and teachers and parents volunteer to ensure the event is teen friendly and without incident. Admission is $10.00.
