Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle Awards First Set of Prizes – Ocean Institute
The first in a series of drawings for the 2012 8th Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle was held Saturday September 1 at the Ocean Institute and over 80 prizes were awarded. For a complete list of winners visit www.lagunabeachhomeraffle.com.
Among the major prizewinners are:
Brian Cronin of Dove Canyon who won a Prius Hybrid or $10,000.
Susan Wallach of Laguna Niguel who won $15,000.
*Maureen Crowley of Laguna Niguel won her choice of a dream vacation, San Francisco or Grand Cayman getaway or $2,500.
Ryan Green of San Diego, and Beverly and Glen Sels of Capistrano Beach won a $2,000 gift certificate to South Coast Plaza or $1,500.
Royce Hutain of Costa Mesa, Brian Hilde of Aliso Viejo and Darelyn Maas of Huntington Beach won $1,000 gift certificates to South Coast Plaza or $750.
Michael Checkwood of Laguna Niguel and Peter Santora of Toluca Lake each won a two-night stay at the Montage Resort Laguna Beach.
“I’m thrilled to win the $15,000 prize,” commented Susan Wallach. “I’ve purchased a ticket for the Laguna Beach Home Raffle every year and it’s great to win.” Susan Wallach’s ticket and all those selected at the first drawing, will have their ticket placed back in the drum for their chance to win the Grand Prize.
The next Bonus Prize drawing will be held 5:30, September 27, at the Ocean Institute. To qualify for this drawing you will need to purchase tickets by midnight, September 13.
Top prizes awarded include another Prius Hybrid, $5,000 cash and more.
“For the 8th year in a row we will award the Grand Prize of $1 million cash or a home in Laguna Beach,” commented Susan Goggin developer of the raffle. “We’ve awarded over $8 million to date and look forward to calling those lucky raffle ticket purchasers that are in the drawing. The final Grand Prize drawing will be held noon, Saturday, November 3 and will once again be held at the Ocean Institute. The public is invited to watch us award the Grand Prize of $1 million or a home in Laguna Beach along with dozens of other prizes.
Tickets are on sale now for the Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle, which benefits the Ocean Institute and Irvine Public Schools Foundation among other eligible non-profits. Ticket buyers will have the chance to win a beautiful Laguna Beach home or the alternate prize of $1 million in cash.
The Laguna Beach Million Dollar Home Raffle is the most successful home raffle in Sothern California, awarding a home or $1 million cash every year from 2005-2011. “We’re proud to have awarded $8 million in prizes since 2005,” commented Susan Goggin. whose agency GCA developed the raffle. Last year’s winner, Aytekin Timur of Laguna Beach elected to take the Grand Prize of $1 million cash over the home.
Tickets are $150 and only 22,000 tickets will be sold. In addition to the Grand Prize, there will be over 250 prizes awarded. Deadline to enter the first Early Bird drawing is midnight Thursday, August 16. Early Bird ticket buyers are provided additional chances to win extra prizes while still qualifying for the Grand Prize drawing held this fall at the Ocean Institute. Bonus multi-ticket drawings will also be held for those who purchase more than one ticket with luxury prizes to be awarded, including 2 Prius hybrids, dream vacations near (Montage Laguna) and far (Paris, Australia) South Coast Plaza shopping sprees and lots of cash.
“The home raffle has produced hundreds of happy winners in the past seven years, and has raised crucial funding that benefits the more than 100,000 school children whom the Ocean Institute serves every year,” remarked Goggin.
