Sunday (19) night Cayman Islands police searches turn up cocaine and ganja

Shortly before 11PM on Sunday, 19 November, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of an altercation in the vicinity of Public Beach on West Bay Road, and a man causing a disturbance at a liquor-licensed premises. After speaking with witnesses and observing some suspicious behavior by the man involved, officers conducted searches around one vehicle in the parking lot, and discovered a small clear packet of cocaine. Officers then determined which vehicle the man had been traveling in, and conducted a second search of that vehicle, discovering several small packets of suspected cocaine, as well as a package of suspected ganja. The man, aged 39 of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of ganja with intent to supply, as well as other drug-related offences.
The man remains in police custody.
