Law Firm Dress Down Days Benefit Cancer Society
Ritch & Conolly donate $1,000 to Cancer Society
25 July, George Town, Cayman Islands – Following several weeks of contributions, local law firm Ritch & Conolly today announce a donation of $1,000 to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. The funds were raised via a Dress Down Day initiative in which staff members were allowed to dress down on a Friday by making a charitable contribution.
The Cayman Islands Cancer Society is a non-profit organisation funded through charitable donations and fund-raising events. Through their efforts, the Cayman Islands Cancer Society aim to raise awareness of cancer as a major public health concern and work towards a reduction in the incidence of cases.
“We’re extremely pleased to have been chosen as the recipients of Ritch & Conolly dress down day initiative,” comments Betty Ann Duty, Chairperson, Cayman Islands Cancer Society. “Such donations will assist our fundraising efforts to continue helping patients with cancer treatments, and ancillary healthcare costs if necessary. We strive to continue our ongoing cancer awareness programmes throughout the community, and to bring necessary healthcare initiatives to the forefront. We would not be able to fund the operations of the society without such donations.”
“Speaking on behalf of all the staff at Ritch & Conolly, we are delighted to make this donation to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society,” states Marie Reinke, Human Resources Manager, Ritch & Conolly. “We appreciate all the support that the Cancer Society offers to individuals in the community with this unfortunate illness and hope that this donation will help them continue their great work.”
Due to the popularity amongst members of staff, the Dress Down Day fundraising initiative will continue throughout 2012.
