Learnfest Caribbean Conference to focus on building resilience
Finance and Planning Minister Audley Shaw will deliver the keynote address at the second staging of the Annual Learnfest Caribbean Conference set for next Wednesday at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.
The conference, which brings together thought leaders from Jamaica and the Caribbean, will explore topical and trending issues affecting organisational strategy, leadership, and management, under the theme ‘Building corporate resilience through innovation, cybersecurity and career readiness’.
Conference founder and organiser Sherrone Lobban said that, with the resounding success of the inaugural effort last year, which attracted participants from 10 Caribbean countries, there was no doubt that Learnfest was an initiative that had to be continued.
“Learnfest is not your typical conference but a non-traditional ‘festival of learning’, providing a unique knowledge-sharing and inspirational experience for participants,” Lobban said.
According to Lobban, this year will be no different as participants will be provided with some of the key tools and cutting-edge techniques to help them inspire and grow their organisations in new directions, in addition to being exposed to the skills needed to themselves become thought leaders in their respective areas of expertise.
BUILDING RESILIENCE
The one-day conference which targets project, operations, human resource, marketing managers, consultants and other professionals will be a mix of keynote presentations, leader sessions and round-table discussions on a range of challenges and solutions, which organisations and professionals can use to become more agile, innovative, cyber-savvy and thus help build resilience in today’s unpredictable business and global environment.
A team of world-class presenters has been assembled for the 2017 Learnfest Conference to engage participants and explore issues that impact organisational growth, leadership and management. Among the presenters for Learnfest Caribbean 2017 are: Neil Perkin, corporate strategist; Jeffrey Nielson, project management specialist; Courtney Campbell, president and CEO – Victoria Mutual Group; Matthew Alderman, cybersecurity specialist; Dr NsombiJaja, life coach; and Dr Claire Nelson, futurist.
Learnfest is a registration-only conference and interested individuals and companies are therefore encouraged to contact the organisers at 354-0705 or 908-0290 or email [email protected]. Special group registration discount rates are available.
The Learnfest Caribbean Conference is an initiative of Development Partners and Management International and Project Management Global Institute, and is being supported by local partners including NCB, VMBS, SMS Communications, Zinergy International, FLOW, The Stationery Office, Face Forward, Interlinc Communications, TVJ and Ashebre.
