Leonardo DiCaprio to the rescue!
The 45-year-old actor helped save a man’s life after he fell off a cruise ship and spent over 11 hours treading water in the Caribbean, sources confirm toJustJared.com.
Leo, girlfriend Camila Morrone, and a few friends were on vacation in St Bart’s on Monday (December 30) when they heard a distress call that a 24-year-old man had fallen off a Club Med yacht nearby in St. Martin in the Caribbean.
Leo happily agreed to divert their vacation and go searching for the man. Despite being hours away from where the man fell, Leo‘s boat was the only one out looking for him.
After treading the water for over 11 hours, the man was finally spotted by members of Leo‘s boat – just about an hour before it got dark and before a giant storm hit.
The man was given food, water, and clothes on Leo‘s boat before he was passed along to coastguards.
The captain of the Club Med yacht said that Leo and his friends were “the only responders, and his only chance of survival, despite being hours away” and that the man was “minutes from drowning” when he was found.
“The captain put the man’s chances of survival at one in a billion — like winning the lottery twice,” a source shared with The Sun.
