On behalf of the Cayman Islands government and the people of the Cayman Islands, I wish to express our sadness on hearing of the passing of Edna Moyle, former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and former Member for North Side.

Ms Moyle served her country well, as Speaker of the House and as a representative of the people of North Side. She was a strong advocate, not only for North Side, but for the best interest of the people of the Cayman Islands in general. Ms Moyle was an excellent example of leadership and a role model for young Caymanians to emulate.

As Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, she presided resolutely. She gained the respect of members regardless of which side of the aisle they sat. She was a great Caymanian and a patriot in every sense of the word.

Our sincere and heart felt condolences to the family of Ms Moyle. God be with each of you through your time of sorrow.
