LIME CAYMAN NATIONS CUP World Stars 1st Team to qualify

Cayman cricketFrom Cayman Islands Cricket Association

World Stars lead by Sam Suberan booked their passage into the LIME Cayman Nations Cup semi finals with a 10 wickets victory over India. In a match interrupted by rain, India scored 72 runs for 7 wickets in 17 overs but after the umpires utilized the Duckworth/Lewis system, World Stars had 53 runs to make in 10 overs. World Stars achieved the target in 6.3 overs with Navin Budhram 28n.o and Jalon Linton 16n.o. It was the lively early spell of bowling by Anil “Malinga” Jugbir and Sam Suberan which restricted the progress of the India team. Anil Jugbir was named Man of the Match.

PEARSONYouth and experience combined well to lead Bimshire Boys to a 17 runs victory over British & Irish Lions. Ramon Sealy 42 and national senior team coach Pearson Best 45n.o powered Bimshire Boys to a respectable 119 for 4 wickets on a heavy outfield. Despite a polished 51n.o from Ian Rotsey, Bimshire Boys were able to contain B & I Lions to 102 for 3 wickets. Pearson Best was named Man of the Match.

Over at the John A Cumber Primary school ground, Panthers lead by Molly Ann Moore won the first match of the LIME Women 8-A-Side defeating Greenies by 6 wickets. Having limited Greenies to 40 runs, Panthers wasted no time as national players Wyvonne Forbes 2 sixes and 1 four and Carneth Thomas 2 fours blasted Panthers to victory.
