Loaded gun recovered – Man due in court

The 41-year-old man who was arrested on Monday in relation to the recovery of a loaded revolver in the Breakers area has now been charged.

He has been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and is expected to appear in court this morning (Friday, 23 November 2012).

Monday 19 Nov 2012: A 41-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning (Monday 19 November 2012) following a police operation which led to the recovery of a loaded revolver and ammunition.

The operation centered on a house search in the Breakers area where the gun and ammunition were recovered. The resident of the house was arrested by police on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
