Lobster Pot fire
Firefighters were called to a George Town restaurant after a blaze sent smoke billowing into the air.
Police cordoned off North Church Street around 5.30pm Thursday after the fire at the Lobster Pot.
No one was injured and damage was minimal. Paramedics were put on standby while the building was evacuated.
Cars traveling in rush hour traffic were diverted around the popular restaurant while investigators were at the scene.
A police spokesman said: “Around 5:24pm [24] 911 received a report that the roof at the Lobster Pot Restaurant was on fire. Patrons and staff were evacuated safely. There were also no reported injuries as a result of the fire.
