Local financial services back the Cayman Islands Red Cross
George Town, Grand Cayman – 19 August 2014 – Running enthusiasts will have another chance to participate in the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants (CISPA) 5K Fun Run & Walk in support of the Cayman Islands Red Cross on Saturday, August 30th.
The 2nd annual event is proving to be popular with already 13 corporate sponsors on board, including: BDO, Campbells, Chris Johnson & Associates, Deloitte, EisnerAmper LLP, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PKF Cayman, PwC Cayman, RSM Cayman, Silver Wheaton, Swiss & Global, and Trident Trust.
“This year we have seen an outstanding show of support from sponsors, and we want to thank them for their generous contributions and for demonstrating their commitment to supporting the Cayman Islands during this most vulnerable time of year.” Ben Leung, Chair of CISPA’s Training and Social Committee.
Held at the North Sound Golf Club, the morning route follows a scenic view of Safehaven and the 18-hole golf course, both starting and finishing at the clubhouse.
Registration is now open on the Cayman Active website and includes a participant waiver to be dropped off along with payment to the CISPA office on or before the registration deadline of Friday, August 29th. Cost to enter is CI $20 for CISPA members and CI $25 for non-members. The entry fee includes a complimentary breakfast and the chance to win from a selection of draw prizes.
Last year’s inaugural race included over 250 participants, raising CI $5,000 for the Red Cross – invaluable funds as the non-profit organisation readies for hurricane preparedness each year.
