A 22-year-old man appeared in court Tuesday (12) morning in connection with an attempted burglary and he was remanded back into police custody to allow further enquiries to be made in relation to other suspected crimes.

At approximately 1.25 am on Sunday, 10th February, police received a report of an attempted break-in at the Bottle Stop liquor store on Walkers Road. As police approached the location a dark coloured car was seen to drive off. The officers followed the car and stopped it a short distance away. The driver was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A search of the car revealed several items of what is believed to be stolen property.

The man was charged with one count of attempted burglary and after his appearance in court he has been remanded back into police custody to allow further enquiries to be made into other suspected crimes and the recovered property.
