A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Sunday (26 August) evening after he drove away from the scene of a road crash.

About 7.50pm on Sunday two Honda motor cars were being driven North on West Bay Road. As one of the vehicles attempted to negotiate a right hand turn into Galleria Plaza, it was struck from behind by the second Honda.

The driver and passenger from the first car were taken to hospital for treatment, but later released.

The second car drove away from the scene of the crash. The car and driver were traced a short distance away by police and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was subsequently released on police bail. Police enquiries continue.
