Joey Ebanks arrested for corruption – he confirms on Facebook
Joey Ebanks, former Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) boss, has confirmed on his Facebook page today (28) that he is the “50 year old Caymanian male” in the RCIPS Press Release below arrested this morning “on suspicion of Breach of Trust and Fraud on Government”.
This what Mr. Ebanks had to say there:
“Following my return to actively posting on FB and exercising my right to freedom of speech, I was arrested again this morning [28 October]. At around 7 a.m. members of the RCIPS Anti Corruption Unit showed up to my home, conducted a search and arrested me on suspicion on corruption during my tenure as the MD of the ERA! Now, is it not strange that as long as I remained silent I was not arrested and upon speaking out against Baines and Kilpatrick, less than a week passes and I’m arrested again? This arrest is in relation to residential solar programme I attempted to implement. I’m still not afraid.”
