Man arrested in connection with stabbing
Police have arrested a man after a nightclub stabbing at the weekend.
A 36 year old man needed hospital treatment after he was attacked at Club 7 on Saturday.
A spokeswoman for the RCIPS said: “A 20-year-old man has been arrested and is currently detained in police custody in connection with a stabbing at Club 7 on Saturday.
“The arrest took place following a police operation in the West Bay area on Monday afternoon. He has been arrested on suspicion of Assault GBH.”
The 36-year-old man who was injured in the incident, which took place around 2.00 am on Saturday 10 December, is recovering in hospital.
Police appealed for witnessed to the stabbing to contacting them.
The spokeswoman added: “Anyone who was within Club 7 around that time and has any information which could assist the police is asked to call George Town police station on 949-4222, the RCIPS tip-line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers 800-8477 (TIPS).”
