A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a police operation in George Town Friday afternoon.

The suspect was arrested by officers, around 2.50pm today, in the Crewe Road area in connection with the shooting of a man in Hirst Road, Savannah, on Thursday 19 January 2012.

The arrest took place after the suspect’s car was pursued by police for a short distance. A police vehicle was damaged in the incident. No-one was injured.

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
