 Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Relation to West Bay Road Incident

UPDATE (3 June):

The man, age 21 of West Bay, who was arrested following a serious assault at the Trafalgar Plaza on West Bay Road, has been formally charged with Attempted Murder. He appears in court today, 3 June.


Initial Release  (21 May):

Just before midnight, Monday 20 May, officers were patrolling the West Bay Road area when they came across an injured man lying on the ground in the parking lot of Trafalgar Plaza located near the Public Beach, West Bay. The officers immediately attended to the man, rendering first aid until the arrival of the Emergency Medical Services.

The injured man was then transported to the hospital by ambulance where he remains being treated for what is believed to be serious and life-threatening injuries.

Later that morning, Tuesday 21 May, police had cause to stop a suspicious looking vehicle in the vicinity of the Strand.  A 21-year-old man of West Bay, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody where he remains pending further investigations.

The incident is being investigated by police and detectives are seeking information from witnesses who were at the location at that time. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
