A man involved in a serious car crash yesterday died in hospital, police have said.

Dwayne Cayasso, of George Town, suffered serious injures when the Honda Civic he was driving crashed into a tree off the Linford Pierson Highway in the early hours of Wednesday.

Yesterday a spokeswoman for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said: “Police can confirm that the driver of the Honda Civic, which crashed into a tree near the riding stables off Linford Pierson Highway Wednesday morning, has died.

“Hospital staff confirmed a short time ago that Dwayne Cayasso, of George Town, passed away late Thursday morning.

“His passenger, a 24-year-old man, remains in hospital in a stable condition.” Police say inquiries into the collision continue.
