Man on child porn possession and distribution charges in Cayman Islands

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, Tuesday May 24, 2016 – A 25-year-old man in the Cayman Islands who has reportedly admitted to being part of a group that distributes child pornography, has been slapped with 10 charges related to child porn.
Trevorne Obrian Daley was yesterday remanded to prison on the charges, eight of which relate to photographs of individual children – seven of them boys.
He has also been charged with having a quantity of indecent photographs of children; and distribution of child pornography via email to another person within the Cayman Islands between January 2015 and December 2015.
The matter was reportedly drawn to the attention of lawmen after Daley, a work permit holder, befriended a boy on Facebook and began communicating with him via WhatsApp.
Crown Counsel Kenneth Ferguson said that US authorities had also raised an alert about indecent articles uploaded to Google Drive.
More than 1,000 pornographic images were reportedly found at his home following the execution of a search warrant by lawmen.
When the accused appeared in court yesterday, Ferguson objected to bail citing the seriousness of the charges. He also pointed out that Daley, a work permit holder, did not have strong ties to the island.
He has been remanded until May 31.
