Man serious after car smash
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he lost control of his car in George Town.
A passenger in the car at the time of the smash miraculously escaped from the mangled wreckage uninjured.
Police are investigating the crash, which happened around midnight on Wednesday, and believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
A spokesman for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said: “The accident occurred when the 20 year old male driver lost control of the motor car whilst traveling east along Elgin Avenue at a high rate of speed.
“He sustained serious injuries and is being treated at the George Town Hospital. The sole passenger received no serious injuries.
