A man is in hospital and a woman is in the police cells following a stabbing incident in West Bay this weekend.

About 12.25 am on Sunday, 18 December, police received a report that a man had been stabbed within a house in North West Point Road, West Bay.

The victim was conveyed to the Cayman Islands Hospital, George Town, suffering from stab wounds to his chest. He is in  stable condition and his injures are described as non-life threatening.

A 20-year-old woman, who is known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of Assault GBH and is currently detained in police custody.

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
