Maples and Calder conflict of interest with Ritz Carlton

In a development concerning the receivership of The Ritz Carlton, Offshore Alert – the investigative website specialising in reporting about Offshore Financial Centres, owned by UK journalist David Marchant and based in Miami – sent us an alert under the title, “Attempt to kick law firm Maples and Calder off Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman litigation”.
Offshore Alert says “The Receivers of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman development are seeking to have law firm Maples and Calder barred from legally representing former owner Michael Ryan, citing a conflict of interest.”
. Maples and Calder is conflicted in Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman litigation, say Receivers
. Risk of “improper disclosure” or “misuse” of information if Maples continues to represent defendants, it is claimed
. In related case, developer Michael Ryan agrees not to dispose of 2007 Rolls Royce Phantom car and other assets without first notifying Receivers
