Matthew Gardner

The Maples Group is pleased to release its latest Cayman Islands Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) Report highlighting the Group’s charitable work and donation of US$960,000 across its scholarship and philanthropic programmes in 2021.  In total, seven young Caymanian scholars and some 60 local charitable organisations and community initiatives benefitted last year from the Group’s long-standing sponsorship programmes, fundraising and volunteer initiatives.

Employees of the Maples Group also raised over US$100,000 in support of 32 organisations through the Group’s Dress for your Day programme, whereby staff chose to donate a portion of their monthly salary to select charities; this amount was then matched by the Group.

This is the second consecutive year the Maples Group has reported on its CSR activities in the Cayman Islands. By reporting on these initiatives / activities formally, the Group hopes to draw attention to the import work of Cayman’s charities, the various ways the private sector may support the community, and the education and career advancement opportunities that the Group can offer Caymanians.

Commenting on the publication and the importance of being an active corporate citizen, Matthew Gardner, Cayman Islands Managing Partner said: “There are so many worthy charitable organistions in need of assistance and the Maples Group is pleased to support these causes.”

“Through this report we are able to share the ways we collaborate with the community and, most importantly, assist in increasing awareness of the critical services these organisations provide.”

The Maples Group supports local causes and organisations with a focus on the development, improvement and benefit of the arts and culture, community outreach, environment, health, sports, and youth and education. Since 2008, the Group has donated over US$15 million to the Cayman Islands community.
