Maples Group expands London Funds Practice with experienced partner
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce the relocation of one of its experienced Funds & Investment Management Partners from its Cayman Islands office to London. Dan Beckett who has been with the firm for over 14 years relocated to the firm’s London office on 1 December 2021.
Notably, the firm’s London Funds & Investment Management team is the largest UK-based offshore funds group in London and Dan’s addition to the team further consolidates the firm’s market-leading position. With extensive experience in Cayman Islands law, Dan will work closely with Harjit Kaur who leads the London Funds & Investment Management practice, and will also collaborate with the firm’s other London practice groups which include Corporate, Dispute Resolution & Insolvency, Finance and Trusts.
Dan advises on the formation of both open-ended and private equity funds as well as the on-going legal and regulatory compliance and general maintenance of all kinds of alternative investment funds. Dan has a particular specialism in unit trusts, and advises trustees, administrators, managers and investors on all aspects of unit trust work, particularly with respect to the Japanese market. His relocation to London will support with providing time zone sensitive advice to clients and contacts in London, Europe and Asia.
