The staff at Maples and Calder and MaplesFS once again decided to participate in Cayman’s ARK’s Giving is Receiving annual food and toy campaign over the 2013 Christmas season.

Now in its fifth year, the Giving is Receiving outreach programme encourages members of the local community to donate a selection of household items, non-perishable food, children’s toys and food vouchers in their now signature blue shopping bags. At the end of the programme, which runs for about a month leading up to mid-December, the food and gifts are sorted, wrapped and repackaged by ARK volunteers before being delivered to local families in need in time for the holidays.

“The holiday season is a special time of year, which for many involves gathering for a meal with friends and family,” said Paul Lumsden, Managing Partner of Maples and Calder’s Cayman Islands office. “Unfortunately, those in our community who are struggling to provide meals for their families may feel an even greater impact around this time, so we are pleased to partner with Cayman’s ARK to provide some assistance when it is most needed.”

Cayman’s ARK has announced that more than 2,600 blue bags and $16,000 in food vouchers were delivered to 472 families across the island this past holiday season, thanks to the assistance of over 70 volunteers and participating individuals and organisations.

Maples and Calder and MaplesFS actively support a broad range of organisations which benefit members of the community, including the youth and the elderly.
