Marchant to identify 2 active Ponzi schemes
OffshoreAlert publisher David Marchant will identify at least two active Ponzi schemes at next month’s OffshoreAlert Conference in Miami Beach, Florida.
“Both are hedge funds that are domiciled in the Cayman Islands,” says Marchant. “I will name them, pull up their web-sites and explain to attendees how I know they are scams.
“When you know what to look for and how to interpret information properly, it is relatively easy to determine whether an investment scheme is fraudulent or bona fide.”
The revelations will come during a session entitled ‘How to Identify Red Flags in the Offshore World’ that Marchant will co-present with Cayman Islands-based insolvency practitioners Hugh Dickson, of Grant Thornton, and Jess Shakespeare, of Kinetic Partners.
The OffshoreAlert Conference provides attendees with information about international finance that will help them make better-informed decisions, whether they are clients, providers or investigators of financial products and services. The event attracts more than 200 attendees from many countries and jurisdictions – both onshore and offshore.
Who will benefit from attending?
Professionals involved in the areas of tax, law, funds, company administration, compliance, regulations, investigations, and asset recovery.
