Margaret Thatcher on the $10 bill
By Tim Chester From Mashable
LONDON — The U.S. Republican debate was a little different to the ones we over here — they had a Boeing 707 in the background for starters — but it yielded no less controversy.
Candidate Donald Trump took most of the slack, of course, but Jeb Bush came out of the event equally humbled.
It wasn’t his admission that he smoked weed four decades ago that prompted the most derision — it was his suggestion that ex-prime minister Margaret Thatcher should be the first woman to appear on an American banknote.
Americans weren’t into it, and the idea didn’t go down too well on this side of the pond either.
The lady’s not for bank notes.
