Marketing Association Holds First Official Training event for Financial Services Marketers
The Caymans Islands Marketing Professional Services Association (CIMPA) recently held its first official training event for 2013. The morning half was dedicated to providing marketers with an overview of the financial services industry and it covered key business segments in the Cayman Islands such as funds, captives and banking. In the afternoon, training facilitator, Paul Byles, Director & CEO First Regents Bank & Trust First Regents provided an overview of local and international trends in financial services – essential insights for any financial services marketing professional.
Paul noted “I think it’s important to understand the financial services industry not solely in terms of the nature of offshore services but also in relation to the global and domestic issues affecting the industry now and potentially in the future”, said Mr. Byles.”With the CIMPA seminar I believe that balance was achieved and it was a privilege for me to assist with their first training event” added Mr. Byles.
Both sessions were well attended by services marketing professionals from the accounting, legal and investment services segments of the industry. Attendee Richard Singleton, Marketing Manager at Appleby said, “It was a timely reminder that we all have a part to play in ensuring Cayman remains the preeminent offshore jurisdiction for our clients. I found the seminar to be a great refresher and look forward to the follow-up Paul mentioned he may present in the future.” Antonio Arch, Corporate Communications Manager at dms added “Paul Byles was beyond impressive. I’m definitely gung-ho to sign up as a member of CIMPA.”
CIMPA Volunteer Training Coordinator Lesley Ann-Thompson advised that “this is only the beginning of what CIMPA hopes will become a robust annual calendar of training opportunities for local marketers. On-going development that is accessible and affordable is critical to ensuring that we remain at the top of our game, and maintain high standards for the marketing profession overall.”
She added, “We would like to thank Paul Byles for taking the time out of his busy schedule to deliver the training, and the team at RC Bodden for hosting the event at Governors Square Boardroom. The session was so well received, we have been asked to put on an advanced class later in the year.”
The next CIMPA training event, scheduled for 4-6pm on Thursday 21st February, will cover Market Research and will be facilitated by Tower Marketing. For information on upcoming CIMPA events and how to become a member, email [email protected].
