Mexico and USA to face-off in Concacaf Gold Cup Final in Chicago on July 7

Tickets for the Final in Chicago’s iconic Soldier Field are sold out

Miami (Wednesday, July 3, 2019) – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) today confirmed that the Final of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup will feature Mexico and USA, which will play the Championship game this Sunday, July 7, at Chicago’s Soldier Field. 

Mexico will take on USA, which won their Semifinal matches against Haiti and Jamaica, respectively. The winner of the match in Chicago will earn the title of the region’s best.

Fans are advised that tickets for the Final are sold-out and are encouraged to arrive early to avoid lines and enjoy Futbol Fiesta presented by Toyota, located in the Stadium Green, starting at 3:30 pm CT. Futbol Fiesta is the official pre-game fan destination, offering a celebratory and free of charge experience for all football fans planning on attending the matches.

Additionally, fans in Chicago can enjoy Gold Cup Station, a massive, 10,000-square foot experience at Chicago’s Union Station that includes unique and engaging football-themed activities where fans can test their own football skills. The innovative fan zone located at Union Station’s Great Hall also provides fans with a photo opportunity featuring a replica of the Gold Cup trophy, and a Gold Cup retail storefront. Gold Cup Station operates daily from July 1-7, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. (225 S. Canal Street, Chicago, IL 60606). 

Taking place every two years, the Concacaf Gold Cup is the region’s premier national team competition, which includes North, Central America and the Caribbean, and crowns the region’s best national team while celebrating football, sportsmanship and culture. In 2019, the Gold Cup made history with first-time events in Costa Rica and Jamaica, taking the official competition to fans across the region. Following the Gold Cup group play, the tournament is averaging nearly 35,000 fans, including sellouts in Minnesota, Los Angeles, Houston (group and quarterfinal games), Phoenix and Chicago, as well as setting new Gold Cup attendance records in Denver, Houston, Charlotte and Phoenix.

The 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup is sponsored by Allstate Insurance Company, Aquafina, Camarena Tequila, Cerveza Modelo, Chick-fil-A, Gatorade, Nike, Scotiabank, Sprint, Toyota, and Valvoline. The tournament will be broadcast nationally on the Univision and FOX family of networks and transmitted on radio in Spanish by Fútbol de Primera Radio Network, and broadcast by television partners in over 180 countries around the world.
