Miss Cayman Islands Universe visits Cabinet, leaves for Pageant
Cayman’s newly elected Government expressed their well wishes to Miss Cayman Islands Universe, Mariah Tibbetts, prior to her departure to the USA for the 69th Annual Miss Universe Pageant, which will be held on 16 May 2021.
Mariah met with Cabinet on 4 May at the Government Administration Building and was delighted to share her upcoming plans with them. Minister of Tourism & Transport, Hon. Kenneth Bryan, said, “We are proud to support Mariah during this time, and wish her best of luck at the Miss Universe Pageant. She has made great strides during her reign as Miss Cayman Islands Universe, especially in this challenging period.â€
Family and friends gathered at Owen Roberts International Airport today, 5 May, to see the Cayman beauty depart for her first international debut in Hollywood, Florida. This year’s competition, albeit slightly different than previous years, will have all contestants arrive 10-12 days prior in order to be Covid tested and cleared before the big event.
Leading up to the competition, Mariah received professional runway and pageant training from Cayman’s own star, Selita Ebanks, former Miss Cayman Caitlin Tyson and world-renowned pageant coach Lu Sierra. She focused on areas such as fashion & styling, brand endorsements, behind the scenes photos & videos as well as make-up & beauty.
“On behalf of the Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee, I would like to extend our sincerest well wishes to Mariah as she gears up for the international pageantâ€, said Committee Chairperson, Derri Dacres-Lee. “We will be rooting for her every step of the way, and will be heading to Hollywood, Florida to show her our utmost support on Sunday, 16 May. We are so very proud of her achievements as Miss Cayman, in the community and through her personal journey.â€
The pageant airs on Sunday, 16 May at 7:00pm EST on Fox.
